Thee Bad Newes to play Norman Music Festival 4

Thats right. We are playing NMF4 Friday, April 29th at 6pm at The Opolis on the Indoor stage. Lots of other good bands will be playing this overwhelming cluster-fuck of a festival and it should be a good time. Check it.

Here we go. Throughout the time that I was writing these songs I often wondered what, if any, band name I would use for them. The primary reason "Thee Bad Newes" has been settled on as the name was mostly mostly decided by TBN also standing for Trinity Broadcasting Network, which if you aren't familiar, is the Christian television station that brings you such programs as Pat Robertson's The 700 Club and many others, and I figured I could do a play on their logo. Also, call me old fashioned, but I'm a sucker for upside-down crosses.
On my cassettes I also put the name Idre, which in my massive Websters Third New International Dictionary is listed as the origin of Hydra, meaning simply: a complicated, evil thing. I liked both names and figured the decision of which is the band and which is the album could be made later, because I'm ridiculous.
These songs I have written between 2006-2010 are mostly quite different from one another in a lot of respects because they are from different eras in my life and don't really belong on any album all together for any reason other than that they were all written by yours truly. Without further ado, Thee Bad Newes//Idre.
